I AM EAGER TO EXPRESS TO THE YOUNG WAR VETERAN DAVIS MY RECOGNITION OF THE SACRIFICE HE HAS MADE FOR THE WELL BEING OF HUMANITY. IN VOLUNTARILY GIVING UP HIS CITIZENSHIP-RIGHTS HE HAS MADE OF HIMSELF A "DISPLACED PERSON" IN ORDER TO FIGHT FOR THE NATURAL RIGHTS OF THOSE WHO ARE THE MUTE EVIDENCES OF THE LOW MORAL LEVEL OF OUR TIME.......Albert Einstein

Garry Davis, dedicated world citizen, is one of those unusual people who lives his convictions, come what may. He keeps paying the price for his world citizenship in detentions, deportations, and the constant strain of uncertainty about his status. His campaign for election as World President of world citizens is breaking important ground for the establishment of popularly controlled world government. He deserves the support of all of us who see the reality of world political machinery able to secure and maintain peace. Tom Paine said that one man with courage is a majority. Garry Davis has that courage.Georgia Lloyd, President, Campaign for World Government

(Reply to Garry Davis's letter of 23 November, 1948)
H. V. Evatt, President of the General AssemblyDear Mr. Davis:
I am much obliged to you for your letter of yesterday referring to the interruption of the proceedings of the General Assembly on Friday last.
I thank you for your explanation and at once accept your assurances as to your motives and objects.
I am extremely interested in your comments on the Charter of the United Nations, and any written communications that you care to cite id="" to me elaborating your opinions I shall certainly communicate to all the delegates of the Assembly.
Finally, I should like to thank you for your references to my own work, and I hope that on some occasion you will pay a call upon the Secretary General and myself.

Lord Yehudi Menuhin, Ambassador of Goodwill to UNESCOGarry Davis is symbolically defending the right of a human being to exist as an individual, even if he or she is in so unfortunate a position as to be an outcast, an exile, a refugee, without the protection of nations, tribe or family. He is determined. single-handed if necessary, to test the sincerity, the validity and the reality of the great human and social statements throughout the ages, not least the more recent ones associated with the United Nations, UNESC0 and Helsinki.
Perhaps he is wrong, for we have seen the decimination of species, and perhaps until whales can command the atomic bomb, until penguins can arm themselves as riot police, their existence will be in jeopardy and they are likely to be totally destroyed.
...I admire Garry Davis and I wish him well. He is a good man, an innocent man, a man of principle, and as such he commands our respect. He is willing to be imprisoned, he is willing to embarrass authority. There are very few people who have succeeded in doing this. My great colleague Rostropovish is one, as are Andrei Sakharov in Russia and Joseph Abileah in Israel: they are people who obey the dictates of human conscience, and defy bureaucracy.
...Let us therefore support Garry Davis and give him encouragement, if only to show symbolically where our heart lies.

I am glad to receive your material, and share the basic impulses that motivate your activity. It is ahead of its time, but embodies an outlook that needs to become accepted if our species is to endure and survive.Richard Falk, Center of International Studies

...it is one of my intellectual as well as activist platforms that the proposition to think, feel and act as a global citizen is an essential requirement for the study and promotion of a just world peace.... The pioneering work you have done, your commitment to world peace through world authority and global citizenship are genuine contributions to both of those causes.Saul Mendlowitz, World Policy Institute
